Welcome to Version 3.0 of the Online Hearing Test. Before you begin please read the following:

1. This test is in no way an absolute indication of your hearing ability. While this test has been designed for use on your home computer, many variables, such as speaker quality, ambient noise, and preexisting hearing loss, may alter the results. As such, we cannot be responsible for actions you do or do not take based only on the results of the Online Hearing Test. If you have any questions about your current hearing ability please contact AAI for an appointment.

2. The Online Hearing Test requires the use of Quicktime 4 from Apple Computer, Inc. Please download and install Quicktime 4.0 or greater before attempting to take the test. (If you already have Quicktime installed on your computer please make sure it is version 4.0 or greater.)

3. In addition, the Online Hearing Test works best (but not only) with the following hardware:
-An IBM compatible PC with a 16 bit sound card or a Mac (which comes with 16 bit sound ).
-A monitor capable of displaying Thousands of colors at 800 X 600 pixels or greater.
-A computer that meets the requirements for Quicktime as set forth by Apple Computer, Inc.

4. Version 3.0 of the Online Hearing Test is approximately 35K in size. It may take 20 to 25 seconds to download (at a 28.8 bps connection speed) into your browser. Please be patient.

5. To fully appreciate the hearing test, please use a version 4.0 or greater browser.
